Fishing Hero has elements of RPG, MMO, action and simulation games which combine to provide a uniquely enjoyable experience. It is like an RPG in the sense that you have various stats, equipment and levels that will make your character stronger. It is like an MMO in that you have systems such as friend’s lists and guilds as well as the ability to interact with other players. It is an action game in that you have special moves and skills that you need to perform and use while catching a fish. Finally, it is partially a simulation game in that it uses real world moves and techniques.

The feel of the gameplay will vary depending on how you decide to play. Some days, after a hard days work, you may be feeling tired and want to relax. Fishing Hero can provide a casual experience of catching the occasional fish while laying back in pristine environments waiting for some fish to bite. It can also have heart stopping moments when you hook that monster fish where split second decisions and reactions will decide whether you go home as a hero or with nothing. Will you choose to sit back and relax or will you go after the big one?

The game features over 800 species of aquatic creatures to catch ranging from small crabs and starfish up to dangerous swordfish and sharks. These fish can be found in over 20 locations such as tropical areas like Bali, urban environments like New York and bone chilling Alaska.

All players can also customize their character in many different ways. There are many different styles of clothing all of which have effects on your stats and fishing skills. There is an upgrade system in place for certain items that will allow another avenue to progress.
